Hey everyone,
😉 My name is Miranda de la Rosa. My family calls me “M”… my nieces and nephews call me “Auntie M”. I work in a library on a college campus in Southeast Texas. I help students with research. Most students never visit the library, but those who have, know I am here for them. I have been on campus for three years, but at the library for two. I worked down the street in the maintenance department as an administrative assistant for most of 2022. I met a lot of good people there who will be friends of mine until the end.
I have played softball my whole life (since I was 5 years old), I still play in co-ed tournaments whenever I can, and I just finished my first year on a team with First Baptist Church. My 7-year-old plays baseball and is going into his fourth year. Although he does enjoy being on a team and buying candy from the concession stand, I am patiently waiting on the day he falls in love with the sport. This year he started martial arts, and he loves it! When we have time off, we love to go to the beach.
I do read books, and because I work in a library, I have access to so many great ones. Pencils of Promise, Golden Girl, Pineapple Street, Summer Stage, and Ninth House are a few of my favorites. I have a list of the most recent books I have read below. I dare you to read one and try not to fall in love with reading. Reading takes you away from everything crazy and onto an adventure just like virtual reality. But what makes reading more superior is the fact that you imagine what you read exactly how you want. The hardest part is knowing what to read.
I watch lots of movies mostly on Netflix, but since starting this master’s degree program movies will be on hold for a while. Some of my favorite movies are Game of Thrones, Vikings Valhalla, Downton Abby, and Bridgerton. These are just on the top of my head. I do like genres other than period pieces.
After I receive my master’s, I will find another big project to accomplish. God wants us to be great and He even gave us the tools to help us to do so.
I am building this website for my master’s program in Applied Digital Learning, and it will also help my students with research. Helping people is something that has always come natural to me. Technical skills, not so much. I plan to put all I’ve got into this project so that, hopefully, I get to see students engage and learn while using this website.
Research doesn’t have to be boring!
